OSCA Annual Conference

Thank you to all who joined us for the 2024 OSCA Annual Conference at the University of Oregon in Eugene on Friday, October 25, 2024. The Conference was held in the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Registration is now closed, and we have reached maximum event capacity.


Because this year's event location has strict building capacity limits, those who attempt to attend the conference without prior registration may be turned away at the door.



Book Nearby Hotels ASAP

We expect a busy weekend of Friday, October 25 in Eugene with other nearby conference and sporting events occurring. Therefore, we recommend booking your hotel accommodations as soon as possible. We also recommend seeking a walkable or public transit-friendly location due to limited parking close to the venue.

You will likely find two paid, permitted parking garages most convenient:

Daily permits are available through the University of Oregon Transportation Services Parking Portal. You can purchase permits up to 2 days in advance. Permit parking is enforced Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST.



Food

We will provide breakfast and lunch buffet with a variety of dietary needs accommodated.



New This Year

In response to member feedback and with the relaunch of oscainc.org, please note new registration steps and policies:

  • To register, all attendees must log in with their own unique account. Members as of February 5, 2024 have an oscainc.org account associated with the email address previously provided to OSCA. If you do not have an account, the registration process will guide you through creating one before you can purchase your ticket. For more help, visit the "Logging In" section of our Getting Started Guide.
  • This year, your conference registration does not include purchase of an annual OSCA membership. If you have a current membership, you will receive renewal notices (including instructions for how to renew) via email beginning 30 days from your membership expiration date. If you do not have a current membership, you can join at any time! Use this membership account to register (see bullet above).
  • OSCA will no longer issue refunds for tickets to our annual conference. If you become unable to attend due to an unforeseeable conflict, please reach out to oscaconference@oscainc.org to receive a credit for next year's conference registration.

Announcing Our Keynote Speaker: Tinisha M. Parker, Ph.D.

Dr. Parker (LPC, CPCS, ACS, NCC Executive Director of Student Services for Gwinnett County Public Schools) is a passionate educator and dedicated to supporting students through the services of school counseling. She'll help us kick off the day with a focus on qualities and actions counselors use each day to support, develop and advocate for students.

We're thrilled to welcome keynote speaker Tinisha M. Parker, Ph.D. to this year's conference. Dr. Parker is a passionate educator and dedicated to supporting students through the services of school counseling. She serves in the 11th largest district in the nation which also happens to be the 7th most diverse district in the nation. She has served students in the capacity of teacher, counselor and now serves the adults who support students as a district administrator. Dr. Parker has been a leader in the counseling profession for many years leading support for over 500 counselors in her district as well as serving as president for the Georgia School Counselor Association (GSCA) and Chair of the Board for the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). She has served on a number of state, and national committees involving school counseling practice, scope, and certification. Dr. Parker will help us kick off the day with a focus on qualities and actions counselors use each day to support, develop and advocate for students.

About the Conference

Every year, the Oregon School Counselor Association brings together school counselors, counselor educators, graduate students, Oregon state educational leaders, guest speakers and others in related fields for a day dedicated to furthering and enriching our profession. We are proud to celebrate the dedicated individuals in our profession from across the state.


Our conference includes a variety of activities: professional development, new ideas, knowledge- and resource-sharing, opportunities to meet and learn from other counselors, inspiration, and recognition. We also present the Oregon School Counselor of the Year (SCOY) Award and acknowledge the winners of our annual grants and scholarships.
