Don Perkins Award recipient
Congratulations to Kelly Tiscornia upon receiving the Don Perkins Grant. This year Kelly moved from the middle school level to the elementary. She has discovered that the students in her building lack skills in the areas of; friendship skills, how to join in a group, how to deal with feelings and personal safety. Kelly will use the money to buy a variety of books as well as materials to help students learn and practice the skills they need. Congratulations Kelly!

Graduation Scholarship Award recipient
Congratulations to Jessica Winfrey. Jessica is a graduate student in the School Counseling program at Portland State University. Jessica interned at the Delayed Expulsion School Counseling Center in Portland Public Schools. Lisa Weatheroy her site supervisor, writes that Jessica met the high challenges of working with the diverse student population. She was extremely well organized and a great problem-solver with the diverse population of students at the center. Jessica is also able to see the ‘bigger picture’ to take into account many of the factors that aid in the success of the students she worked with. Congratulations Jessica! OSCA wishes you the best as you graduate and enter the field of school counseling.
