Don Perkins Professional Grants

Program Guidelines 2015 -2016


Don Perkins Grants support school counselors in developing programs and receiving training in order to benefit students.


Deadline: January 31st, 2017.

Funding period: The 2016-17 school year. One half of the grant will be dispersed in February. The remainder will be dispersed in June contingent upon the receipt of a written summary of the outcomes to date. Funds must be spent by June 1, 2017.

Amount of Grants: A grant request may be for up to $500.

Eligibility: OSCA members who are employed School Counselors.

Strings Attached: As you near completion of your program or training we ask that you write a brief article for the OSCA newsletter describing what you did, how students benefited, and your recommendations to other school counselors. If you prefer, you may submit an article for the OSCA Newsletter or submit a program proposal for a break-out session at the OSCA Fall Conference.

Examples of programs and training OSCA has funded:

  • Crisis Response training for counselors
  • Library of resources for parents 
  • Love & Logic training for a counselor
  • Peer Mediation Training of Trainers 
  • Incentives program to improve students’ academic success.
